ErikaJ 65 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Dood day...I noticed that Plex is having a "throwback" for a limited time to their original pricing for a lifetime pass. Is Emby going to be doing the same thing? Cheers
ebr 16212 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Hi. We don't have any current plans for a sale but we have one every now and then. We feel we are a fantastic value now . Thanks!
ErikaJ 65 Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 No worries ebr...just asking, and I agree "We feel we are a fantastic value now"...cheers
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 One of the first things I did after verifying the Emby worked for me was to buy a lifetime pass. I did not do it for the benefits but rather I did it to support for Emby. I strongly believe that if you use software you should support the developers thereof. I, after that purchase, moved several times back and forth between Emby and Plex. (Yes I have a lifetime pass for Plex as well) I do not regret either purchase at all. I feel that both purchases are money well spent. Now I am totally with Emby and I feel even more strongly that the money was well spent for both passes. Emby is one of the best purchases I have ever made.
ErikaJ 65 Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 @@Gilgamesh...I agree wholeheatedly. That said, I will soon be testing out the IPTV portion of Emby and hopefully it works well. Currently, I use NPVR, Plex and now Emby. I recall that last year when I first started using Emby (MB) the IPTV plugin was not working to the extent that I did not get my providers content. Hopefully, things have changed enough that it does work now. But for now I am happy with NPVR handling my IPTV service, Media Monkey for my music media and Plex/Emby for visual media (anticipating a move to the latter). BTW my M3U url is http://unityx.ddns.net:83/get.php?username=xxxxx&password=xxxxx&type=m3u_plus&output=ts. This is the same as last year so as stated previously I can only hope this works now. If not no worries. Cheers
ebr 16212 Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Just FYI no plug-in is required for an m3u tuner. Support is built in.
