unsrm 0 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Hi Folks, I've finally got around to fixing my library and I have a problem, none of my TV shows are showing/using the local metadata created by MediaScout even though it is there. Any suggestions how I force Emby to 'read' local data? Thanks in advance, Chris
Happy2Play 9785 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 What is Emby not reading? How about specific examples.
unsrm 0 Posted May 24, 2019 Author Posted May 24, 2019 Well its not reading any of the metadata so Emby just shows file names. For example in T:\Series\Black Lightning there is a metadata folder which contains jpegs and xml data which Emby doesn't use. In Emby the Black Lightning folder just shows the title.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 There is the key "xml" metadata. You have to have the xml metadata plugin in order for Emby to read xml metadata. You may have to adjust metadata reader order per library once plugin is installed.
unsrm 0 Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 OK so I installed the xml meta data plug in and refreshed metadata but still no data.. I am missing something? Thanks for all the help so far
Luke 42086 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 What exactly did you do? What data is missing? Has anyone even confirmed that the xml created by mediascout is compatible?
unsrm 0 Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 Apologies for the delay, but I have been sickly. OK so in the case of most folders, it just displays the file names and the folder image with no metadata (even though the meta data is there in a hidden folder). The XML plugin seems to work in some cases not others. Do you recommend using Emby to get metadata directly?
Luke 42086 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Do you recommend using Emby to get metadata directly? Yes, certainly, or use nfo files as support for that is built-in.
unsrm 0 Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 Have switched to nfo and this is working perfectly, is there a way to have them in a separate folder though? Thanks, Chris
