I'm using Version 4.1.1.0 and I'm pretty sure you used to be able to do a manual Chapter image extraction under  Scheduled Tasks

but I don't see that option any longer.. was that option removed  or built directly into library scan?

You need to check each library and verify the Thumbnail settings.  You have interval images or chapter images now.

I get both 5 second interval and chapter images.

Yes the UI will display chapter images extracted from the bif files at the 5 min intervals.  But you have the option for only the 5 min Interval chapter images.

So if I have actual chapters in the mkv that are not at 5 min intervals, the BIF image shown at say, 12:38 is actually the image grabbed at 10:00? Not that it matters much but is this actually what Emby is doing? BTW, I have my BIF interval at 5 seconds.
