Audio Issue on FireTV Stick Gen.1 since last update - voice channel missing

Hello everyone,

 

Since the last update, audio is kind of borked on my Fire TV stick when using Emby.

I will hear the background audio, but the voice channel is missing.

If I use the "fix audio or playback issue" fix, it will start working after the second time, but the video will start stuttering like crazy so it's not an option.... I am using the "downmix to stereo" option.

It will work fine on my PC and on my smartphone. 

 

I tried changing audio settings on my TV (Samsung UE48J5150ASXZG), but there really isn't anything to change.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I did that but changed nothing unfortunately.

Okay, if you can follow the instructions to send a log from the app as well (same document) that may help.

Having this exact problem on both my old firesticks, 4k one is fine tho.

 

Workaround at the mo is to set external player and let it play through VLC

Also, do you need the downmix option to be enabled?

I've tried it with Downmix and Auto - both same result. 

Also only started happening after last update

I "think" this might be related to what I reported during the beta;

it was under 1.7.16a when I first reported it and it continues through 1.7.21a (which is as I understand the current release)

 

There is a new beta that may fix it. I have not, yet, received the new beta on my Fire 4K Stick but I think it will come soon and I will let those here know if it fixes the problem so they know if they have something good to look forward to.

The beta 1.7.23a fixes the issue for me.

 

Yippee ki-ay. My Fire is trustworthy again.

 

I do not know how long it will take for the beta to peculate to the general release but I guess it could be some time since the earlier beta just became the release.
