Can't get rid of old m3u channels

I'm running live tv on my windows 10 server. When my first iptv service disappeared I entered a new m3u link in the m3u tuner, The new channels appeared but the old channels did not disappear and are before the latest m3u listings. That wouldn't necessarily be a problem since I'm using favorites to place the channels I watch at the top of the list, but there are so many channels that my new listing quits before getting to some of the channels I want to select as favorites. Interestingly enough, I can see those channels on the Shield emby client I use to view the channels but since I can't select favorites on the client I can't put them with the rest of the favorites. How do I get rid of the old m3u listings so I can view all of the new ones on the server?

Since I'm not getting any response to the above question, here's another perhaps someone will have an answer to. I use NPVR for recording so I can easily edit the iptv channel listing in that program. After doing so, however, how do I get that channel listing into Emby Live TV? I can export the channel listing but it is an xml file and that doesn't appear to be an Emby selection for a live tv source.

Hi there, have you checked the contents of your m3u file? Are you certain the channels are no longer there?  Have you run the refresh guide process?

I finally got rid of the old url by closing out all Live TV sources and rebooting both the computer and the Emby server. I still am not getting the entire url list on the server but I can see it on the Nvidia Shield Emby app. My problem now is that I cannot get the Quattro tuner to link into Live TV. I've tried everything under the sun and I just can't get it. Emby finds it when I select it as a tuner but nothing happens after that. Nothing shows up the in the OTA Guide mapping window either. I know the tuner is working because it does so in NPVR and in the HD tuner app. But nothing in Emby. M3u channels are working just fine in Live. I just may have to give up on OTA channels in Emby and use either of the other tuners instead.

That likely means your guide is empty, if the mapping tool is empty.

I'm still having no luck with my quattro tuner. As I said above, I know it's working as I can view it's channels in other programs. It was working in Emby for some time but now doesn't. I updated the Silicon Dust software for it and I've done every thing I can think of to get it to connect. Do you have any ideas what else I can do or what I might send to give a clue as to the problem?

Please run the refresh guide process, then when it finishes please attach the emby server log. thanks.

embyserver (1).zipI'm not sure this log was complete when I sent it last night so I'm doing it again after refreshing the guide once more. There should be three tuners shown for Live TV, two m3u tuners and the Silicon Dust tuner (quattro). The smaller m3u tuner is actually a dumb tuner utilizing NPVR's ability to generate a m3u8 file accessing the local channels I'm not getting fromt he  Quattro. The larger m3u file in an iptv m3u list.

You're only using emby guide data, right? Or are you also using xmltv?

Only emby guide data. One for OTA, one for Dish Wichita satellite, and one for British TV.

Can you please try the mapping tool again, and then if it comes up empty, please attach the server log from the timeframe that you attempted that. thanks.

Sorry, we apparently have different awake times! :) The only mapping tool that wasn't working was the OTA and it is now since I started using the dumb tuner approach to get my local channels that the Quattro should be providing directly, but isn't. To put it another way, the only way I can get the Quattro channels into Emby Live TV is indirectly with an m3u8 link to NPVR. The only frustrating thing about this is Quattro was working just fine in Emby Live TV, directly, up until a week ago and I have no idea what would have caused it to stop doing so.

I may have found a way around the problem. I created a m3u playlist using VLC and plugged that into a m3u tuner in Live. Seems to load and work just fine. The 'dumb tuner' m3u8 from NPVR seemed to give me occasional problems with NPVR. If the VLC playlist continues to work that should solve my problems.

What exactly is the problem?

The problem was the inability of Live TV to connect with my Quattro. The m3u playlist for the tuner has solved it and I now have access to the OTA channels in Live TV.
