Hello,

 

I am using the App for Ipad, i selected the option that it should remember the password, but thats only working for some time and then I have type it in again.

Thats very frustrating to do this several times a week.

And what happens, the app  just loads to the login screen?

You can´t see that on the logs, for what I had to upload this ?

The App hangs, its not possible to start the video on the last stopped position.

I go back main view Ipad, start the app again and then the password is asked.

Hi, this is the server log you provided. It won't always tell me everything that happened in the app.

 

Does this all happen inside your home network? Or remotely as well? Thanks !

I only use emby local with PC, FireTV for TV and iPad - no remote. The password is always requested on iPad app only.

It would help to have an setting, that it don´t request a password on local home network usage (subnet x.x.x.x), but either there is no option any more for this in emby or I saw it once on plex.

On the last installation it was mandatory to set a password - a installation ahead i didn´t need to create a password for emby-user.

Thats the cause, why I didn´t have the problem at an earlier time.

My only workaround is to use PIN, thats easier and faster than a complicated password.

Hi, yes there is actually an option for this. Use the emby server dashboard to configure the password for your user, and underneath the password field there is a section about the In-Network pin code. Just enable the pin code feature and leave it blank. They you will be able to sign in without a password on your local devices.

How can I remove the PIN ? I already used it the last weeks, because it was annonying to type in the long password.

There are always ***** in the field. Saving with blank field (apart from *****) didn´t work to remove the PIN and the stars can´t be removed too.

Just blank it out and save. The stars are just placeholder.

I don´t know why, sometimes it works, sometimes not. So the password field is blank now. Its a little bit confusing that the stars won´t be deleted (there is no optical control), just gone after save / refresh.
