dcol 175 Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 My Emby server has 2 Ethernet connections NIC1 is connected to the local LAN NIC2 is connected to the secured internet I want Emby Server to be able to communicate with the local network (NIC1) and do all Internet accessing to NIC2 NIC1 also has internet access, but is unsecured and I do not want Emby to use this with live TV. So in short, I want the library access to use NIC1 and Live TV to use NIC2. Is this possible?
Luke 42089 Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Maybe, but not directly via Emby. It is all handled automatically by the network stack in the operating system.
dcol 175 Posted May 20, 2019 Author Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) Ok, thanks. I thought maybe Emby could handle that in the advanced settings, but I will do it through the OS. Edited May 20, 2019 by dcol
Solution dcol 175 Posted May 20, 2019 Author Solution Posted May 20, 2019 For anyone else wanting to know, this was solved by changing the network card metrics. 1
x88dually 9 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 dcol, what exactly did you change ?? been looking to do the same, but not with live tv, with file transfers
dcol 175 Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 Go into the IPv4 properties>Advanced and untick Automatic Metrics. Enter a number. The card with the lowest number will have priority.
x88dually 9 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) do i have the option to set the number ? Sorry i didnt read it right. TY for your quick answer. Edited May 21, 2019 by x88dually
x88dually 9 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 should file transfers 50g+ at least once a day, or emby, 2-4 stremas daily, have priority ?
dcol 175 Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 The only reason I set priority is because I wanted to direct internet traffic for LiveTV to a NIC that has a VPN on it. Usually the priority is not an issue unless you have multiple NIC's that can go to the same place.
