Live TV Chromecast playback Issues

Hello,

 

I have been using this setup for over a year and yesterday evening I've started having issues.  I have an m3u playlist setup in emby.  Playback is fine on any device, I can even cast to my smart tv.  However as of last night (worked in the afternoon) I have been unable to stream to my chromecast with Live TV.  Non-live media plays fine.  I've been debugging things for a couple hours now but I'm at a loss.  Attached is a log snippet from the moment i press play.  emby in the browser thinks it's playing but the timestamp is 0:00.  Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

 

EDIT: Forgot to mention I've tried the stable version of emby server as well as various Beta versions in an attempt to resolve this problem.

Having the same issues here. Started yesterday morning, as soon as I cast live tv, I just get a black screen.

 

I don't have access to the logs right now, but I can post them up later.

It's working now!  I guess it was a chromecast issue?

It was an issue with our Chromecast receiver.

Do I need to update anything? I noticed in the server it says direct playing. Shouldn't it be transcoding for live TV to Chromecast? Either way it's still not working for me thanks

What I did to fix my Chromecast playback issue was to change the vp9 transcoder(under advanced) from dx11 to the direct hardware.

I actually fixed it by restarting the computer. I had restarted the server many times to no avail but has avoided restarting the machine because it is down the cellar and requires intervention on startup. But that seemed to cure the issue.

I figured I should just bring this post back rather than post a new one. This issue has returned. It appears an update was pushed to emby within the last couple days which breaks Chromecast live tv casting. It works fine on the device, just not casting. Basically exactly what was happening before.

Just a quick update for anyone with this problem. I was in the beta, rolled back to stable and all is working again.
