deallier 8 Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 Hi this is just a request on emby server in the user profile tab would it be posible to have (Allow media downloading and syncing ) on separate tick boxs ie on for downloading and one for syncing because if i give a user this option Allow media downloading and syncing they can sync to anyones device even to someones device they don't even know . but to able to download for offline viewing can be usefull at times. plus on an Apple ipad the doesn't seem to be the download option anyway Why ? thank you for the great work that you do DAllier
Luke 42080 Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 Apple ipad the doesn't seem to be the download option anyway Hi, what version of iOS are you running?
Luke 42080 Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 To answer the original question, they are the same feature so that is why we would not separate them.
CBers 7451 Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 Could you not restrict your users to specific devices?
deallier 8 Posted May 18, 2019 Author Posted May 18, 2019 hi no i cant really restrict users to specific devices the download and sync is not really the same or at least not the way you have set it up to download would be to download to the device that you are currently using but when you click on sync you have the option to sync to any device even ones that you don't own. ok so one of my users clicks on sync he has the choice to snyc to any Device there's or someone else's which means anyone of my users could just start sending files to one of my other users devices that they don't know, and thats no good, plus it will only list about 15 - 20 devices where as i have a lot more than that currently being used. hence this option is disabled for all my users but it would be nice to be able to offer them the option to be able to download to the device that they are on like on the Web browser just a simple download with the option to recode to a smaller file size thank you
