v4.1.1.0 Home Screen messed up

on Win 7, with a virgin install of v4.1.1.0, after 48Tb library scan of 8 drives. I go into home screen settings, and i see server/user name icon, collection, and trailer icons. Un v3.5.3 i get Tv shows, Movies, collections and trailers.

 

The question: where are the settings in v4.1.1.0  ?

 

v3.5.3 has folder Tv show, Movie, Colections and trailers. But not v4.1.1.0.  When i click on server/user name icon, it shows 1 folder for each drive. No 2027 tv show icons/thumbnail with letters on the right.

 

in v3.5.3, i go into display, home screen and playback and make my settings. Then i go back to server dashboard for seetings in, library then display, and end up with what i want.

To be honest, I didn't understand a single word of what are you trying to convey?

What interface are you using? Emby Web?

I understand you did a clean install, what Libraries have you created? Can you show us a screenshot of any of them?

I truly don't know even where to start to identify your problem.

web app ? In mozilla firefox, type localhost:8098. page opens to home screen with my media, continue watching, next up, latest tv/movies. Top row under my media, thumbnails? are Tv shows, Movies, collections, trailers and folders, in v3.5.3.

I'm completely baffled by "server/user name thumb" - is that a library you created? Did you create any other, like TV Shows or Movies or anything else? Could you share some screenshot of Library tab in your Server Dashboard?

OK, that's your 3.5.3 server, I'd assume. I was referring to your 4.1.1. version that has none of those items.

Well, if you didn't update your server but did a clean install, then you have to setup/rebuild your libraries all over again, from the scratch. Did you do that after clean install 4.1.1, as stated in your first post?

initial library scan took 38 hrs roughtly, each time, then i gave up on that version.

 

instead of showing tv movie coll trailer,   IT ONLY showed  server user name, coll and trailers.

 

When i clicked on user name, that screen showed 8 folders, 1 for each drive

 

and this version is supposed to fix my Roku problem

OK, now that we finally have a screenshot, it's clear enough.

In order to have TV shows or Movies or any other Library displayed on Home screen, you need to MAKE that library first. What you did is made a single Mixed-content library and therefore you have only that shown on homescreen. If you look at your 3.5.3. server dashboard, Library tab, you'll see what is the setup there.

48TB is a huge amount of data, rebuilding your libraries would take considerable time.

tv shows are on 6 drives.  movies are on 4 drives.

 

 

so how do i do it, so i can use your latest version ?

It's the same as on your 3.5.3 version, nothing changed there.

However, here's summary if click on Wiki is too far away:

1. Add media library (big PLUS sign)

2. Content type: TV shows

3. Folders: click +, point to your drives that hold TV shows, each drive separately

4. Adjust (or don't) remaining options

5. Click OK

6. Go to weekend out-of-town, it'll take some time

Yes, process for movies is the same, only difference is in 2. Content type: Movies, and every click on + in step 3. is different drive. Huh.
