WhackOBill 8 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I see that I need to punch and forward 8096 for control but are there other holes / forwards required for streaming outside of the home network? I use a Cisco ASA that doesn't handle Upnp so I need to do it manually. Just curious as I will attempt outside use when the next IOS version drops.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 You need the following ports forwarded: 8096 TCP to your server machine 8945 TCP to your server machine.
Guest virtualtinker Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 What's 8945 for? I've only ever forward 8096 and have as of yet never needed to forward any other ports?

If your server is on Windows 8.x then you don't need that port. On Windows 7 era OSes it is the port used for websocket communications which is how the server notifies clients of events (like changes in the library or remote control messages). 1
