Tony B. 38 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 It seems that every single morning I am having to deal with the emby server hanging up. Not sure what these logs mean yet, but I would hope that someone can interpret why I am getting the exact same thing EVERY morning. This also hangs emby or slows it down considerably. As far as I can tell, this looks like a serious bug. It's so big, I couldn't attach it here. (240MB) https://www.tinozplace.com/Bad-Log.txt
Happy2Play 9781 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 All I can see endless "http response 403" errors from IPTV "error coping live stream, will keep trying".
Tony B. 38 Posted May 17, 2019 Author Posted May 17, 2019 All I can see endless "http response 403" errors from IPTV "error coping live stream, will keep trying". Yup. That's what I see. However, I watch IPTV from the provider all the time. Probably that Feed/Channel.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 There is some discussion about the 403 response in the testing area, but I am not sure how or if it is related to your hanging issue. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/73634-error-403-forbidden-from-stream/
Tony B. 38 Posted May 17, 2019 Author Posted May 17, 2019 That sounds like the issue, I adjusted my tuner limit in Emby, I thought xTeve was handling it ok. For now, I disabled the channel and hopefully it won't come up tomorrow. If it does, I will try other things. Another thing I've noticed that it really doesn't like doing a media scan and refreshing the guide at the same time. If they both run, it will result in slowness and hangs of the emby server causing me to have to hard reboot the machine. This refresh issue is also happening on my Synology server, but that's a different topic for a different day.
Tony B. 38 Posted May 17, 2019 Author Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) @@Luke The emby server becomes sluggish to the point that it will hang on all the web pages. I'll go to the Task Manager to end the process and it won't end for minutes then when it ends, I start it back up but, loading the webpage shows "Loading emby server" (or whatever) in black text on a white background. The real emby site will never show up no matter how many times I refresh it. After restarting the machine, it's good to go. Edited May 17, 2019 by Tony B.
Luke 42080 Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 What's happening is your live tv provider is returning a 403 forbidden error, and the server keeps repeatedly retrying to connect and this is the reason for the slow down. We'll have to adjust this to just give up at some point. Thanks.
Tony B. 38 Posted May 20, 2019 Author Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) @@LukeHere is a log of another server slow-down right before I had to restart the machine. I read through it a little but couldn't figure out why it was giving me issues. EDIT: Had to remove personal info from the log. Log (2).txt Edited May 20, 2019 by Tony B.
Tony B. 38 Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 @@Luke I noticed in the newest beta that it's fixed, is that right? I tend to try the beta out from time to time, would now be a good time or, should I wait till it gets closer to release?
Luke 42080 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 It might be yes, if you'd like to try that it out. Thanks.
Tony B. 38 Posted May 23, 2019 Author Posted May 23, 2019 @@Luke Seems that there might be another issue. It still gets quite sluggish after 48 hours since being upgraded to the beta. https://www.tinozplace.com/Log20190523.txt
Luke 42080 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I don't really see anything obvious here. Can you try removing the dlna plugin and then restarting the server? thanks.
Tony B. 38 Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 The latest server seems to work a little better with the dlna plugin uninstalled. Emby still won't restart after a couple of days but! At least it's functional. Considering all the issues I'm having, I am thinking about installing it in a virtual environment; namely Linux. The guide is just so damn slow and this restarting of emby, even for small updates is getting the best of me.
Luke 42080 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 The guide is just so damn slow Eliminating any unneeded channels would be your best workaround until we improve the guide data loading that i mentioned in the other topic.
Tony B. 38 Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 I'll get you some new logs if the re-install doesn't help.
Tony B. 38 Posted June 8, 2019 Author Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) @@Luke The most recent versions of the beta have helped. I have not had to reboot my machine for quite some time. The other thing, after installing the latest MCEBuddy, it seems to have helped my problem too. In short, I'm not sure if it was Emby or MCEBuddy that was the real reason for system sluggishness. One thing to add.. I was editing my guide on xTeve and changed some mapping. After I refreshed the guide the third time, Emby started to get real slow. Had to end the service from the desktop and it was fine after that. I think whatever the problem is, begins with the guide refresh. Because, it will also get really sluggish when there are things like subtitles downloading and the guide refreshes at the same time. If I am able to catch that, I'll get you a log. Luke 42080 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Because, it will also get really sluggish when there are things like subtitles downloading and the guide refreshes at the same time. I think it's because you have a huge channel list. You may want to consider adjusting the schedule of these scheduled tasks so that they are not happening during your peak viewing hours.
Tony B. 38 Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 I adjusted a lot of schedules to make sure they are separated and only run for 1hr at separate times. Hopefully that will help.
