EHS Displaying 3+ month old watched items as being Recently Added!

Hi guys,

Not sure what's happened but can't figure out how to fix this so after some help please!

I'm using the subdued theme and on the title screen when I scroll to my TV Episodes collection the EHS screen is now displaying 3+ month old previously watched episodes as being 'recently added'.

If I go in to any other of my collections such as Movies, Documentaries, Music etc all the items on the EHS are current and correct, it's only TV episodes that have been affected.

Can anyone please advise how I can start fixing this issue as I don't know where to start as everything looks correct in the configs etc.

Cheers

Something in your system has probably changed the creation dates of some episodes.  Check the added dates with the web editor and then look at the dates on those files in explorer.

bloody American date format is what it is - this has happened to me so many times before it's getting beyond a joke now.

For example the date added is listed as 2014-12-04 and the release date is 2014-04-09. All 30 items on my EHS have been affected by this!!

What causes this to happen, anyone know? I don't enter the config menus to change anything ever - I just drag my new episodes to the correct media folder and wait for the metadata to come down.

How can this have changed so many OLD episodes to say that they are now recently added?

So frustrated....

Is MB the only thing that is touching your metadata?

Yes mate - Metadata is configured within MB3 and is configured for the UK and this problem has only happened in the past 2 days or so.

Everything in my TV folder, some several thousand files have been affected.

I'm so angry and frustrated I've given up trying to correct it because I can't do it manually it's going to take too long. I've spent the past hour doing it all manually and the EHS just refreshes showing 30+ items that are also wrong as soon as I've finished fixing the previous 30+ items on the EHS!!!

AGGGHHHHHHHH :(

The DATE ADDED field is the problem, will deleting all metadata fix this problem or is there any easier solution?

Is there an easy way to delete all your metadata and re-fetch it back down? I really don't want to have to go in too  every TV series folder and manually delete the metadata folders, I't would take me weeks!

Thanks for your help btw, much appreciated :)

You don't have any other source for the metadata?  Are you sure it is the date-added field in the xml file and not the actual file dates?

What version of the server are you running?

Thanks ebr - okay so this is what happened a few days ago when I was trying to refresh my metadata for a freshly added TV show.

I opened up MB3 dashboard http://localhost:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/edititemmetadata.html and selected edit metadata.

Selected TV in the column on the left hand side and on the right hand side column clicked on "Refresh All Data"

Doing this is what has caused the date problems and has made old watched content appear as recently added on my EHS. I've never used this "metadata refresh" option before as I've just relied on MB3 eventually getting the data as soon as the newly added TV show was added it to the correct series folder. On this occassion I thought I'd try the refresh option to see if it would download the metadata any quicker than just waiting for MB3 to get around to it if you know what I mean.

If I scroll down to "Metadata Settings" at the very bottom in the right hand side column there is no country specified in the Country tab as it states "Leave empty to inherit settings from a parent item, or the global default value."

What would have caused the "Refresh All Data" to fetch down metadata in the US date and time format when my MB3 is set as United Kingdom here: http://localhost:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/metadata.html

Needless to say I won't be using the "Refresh All Data" metadata option again.

Confused and frustrated but really appreciate your time and insight ebr :)

Thanks, that is good info.  Maybe there is a hole in that process that is saving an improper date format.  @@Luke...?
