Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Please add an option in the dashboard to delete the contents of the log directory. Logs tend to stay around for a long time. Including transcode logs which really aren't needed for more than 24 hours.
ebr 16182 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 They self delete every 30 days I believe and don't really take up that much space in the scheme of things. My only concern with this feature would be too many people would use it and we wouldn't be able to get good logs of issues .
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 In order to get logs for issues, I have to go in and delete them all anyway and recreate the issue. Not possible to upload 1.7 Megabyte logs and that is too much information anyway.
ebr 16182 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Yeah, getting the right log does sometimes require a re-production of the problem but, sticky issues sometimes can only be found with earlier logs. In any case, this is a valid request.
Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 actually they self delete i think every 3 days, because they can get large and consume a lot of space.
ebr 16182 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Maybe it is seven days. Mine go back to the 12th right now.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 All I know is I deleted over 300 files this morning taking up over 2 GB of space. All logs.
