charge search from voice to text input

Hi, I'm loving the app apart from the search which as far as I can figure out voice only. It had great trouble understanding what I'm saying so I would love to be able to text input my search for media, but cannot see how to do this, any suggestions?

I do not know which Android device you are using but on my Fire and Shield if I simply highlight the search field and press OK it brings up an on screen keyboard where I can enter text as I choose. 

 

BTW: I know this works because I never use voice search for anything. I dislike talking to machines in most cases.

I use a Minix neo-u9-h

 

If I select the search icon, only option I get is "speak to search"

Found it! If I press left nav key on search box it changes to text input. Would love to figure out how to make that default or disable voice search altogether
