rondawes 0 Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 I'm not sure where to post this, so if this is the wrong forum please move it. With cable TV or sat TV you get a remote that has a numeric keypad. If you are on channel 100 and want to go to channel 511, then just tap 511. With the devices that the Emby app runs on, you only have remotes with arrow pads and a few other buttons. Selecting a channel from the guide requires a lot of tap-tap-tap to move 100 channels from where you are. So my question is there an app platform that supports a full function remote with a numeric keypad? Thanks.
CBers 7450 Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 Depends which Emby app you use, but the Android TV (ATV) app has an on-screen number-pad where you can enter a channel number. As the devs are trying to standardise all of the apps, that will be added eventually everywhere.
mastrmind11 722 Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 as is, if you long press the direction button, it rips through the list pretty quickly and maybe costs you a couple seconds.
