gstar3 0 Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 (edited) Hi. My Emby installation is on a SSD disk (/dev/sda1), and when browsing the libary(/dev/sda), it should not wake up my disk with content (/dev/sdb1). However it does. I figured out, that some of the movie-fanart.jpg and movie-poster.jpg, is read from the disk with the content(/dev/sdb1), and not from the emby library (/dev/sda1). Why is that? How to make sure emby only reads the database and emby library (/dev/sda1), instead of getting content form the disk? Edited May 11, 2019 by gstar3
gstar3 0 Posted May 11, 2019 Author Posted May 11, 2019 huh? Hi. I have rephrased and edited my post. Does it make more sense now?
gstar3 0 Posted May 12, 2019 Author Posted May 12, 2019 Everything should have been cached, but it does not behave this way. That's the problem
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 The cache expires after 30 days i dont think emby caches ever file when downloaded - but when accessed for the first time - i.e you view a for example a movie page Why is it a problem?
gstar3 0 Posted May 12, 2019 Author Posted May 12, 2019 The problem is, that I would like to only wake my harddisk when i actually want to see something. Sometimes, I might browse though the libary, without actually wanting to see something
mastrmind11 722 Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 (edited) 1) stuff only gets cached when you first look at it and is presisted for 30 days. 2) if you haven't looked at something previously, the first time you do it has to load from disk and is subsequently cached. 3) who cares if you spin up a disk?
