Luke 42077 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Hi there, have you followed the setup requirements in our hardware acceleration wiki? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Hardware-Acceleration-Overview
bigverm23 2 Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 I believe I have, is there something you need me to check?
Luke 42077 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I just wanted to confirm that you've stepped through it. Unrelated but it appears you enabled nfo file saving but haven't ensured the server has write access to your media folders. This is the reason for all of the UnauthorizedAccessExceptions that are filling up the server log.
Luke 42077 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I think we should wait and re-evaluate this once you have version 4.1.1. Thanks.

I have set up USER:docker which has rwx access to my media folders, and emby user is a part of that group according to: etc/group output: docker:x:964:bigverm23,emby
Luke 42077 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Hardware acceleration for Docker is only experimental at this stage. It can work, but it will require some extended setup on your part. This article may help you: https://www.funkypenguin.co.nz/note/gpu-transcoding-with-emby-plex-using-docker-nvidia/
bigverm23 2 Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 I'm not running emby in Docker I'm just running everything else in Docker so for consistency purposes I just named the group docker
Luke 42077 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Ok thanks for the info. Regarding Manjaro, we have not tested this distro ourselves so that is one important thing to keep in mind. We may not have the answers yet for every possible thing you might run into. That's part of the reason why I'm suggesting we re-evaluate with 4.1.1, since the newer version should have a better chance of working.
bigverm23 2 Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Ok I'll wait. I also find it odd that when I was running ubuntu I had h265 as encoding option but now on manjaro it doesnt show
