Dizzy49 99 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 As usual, I'm watching lots of anime. They have AAS subtitles. I've noticed that if there is a scene where they show a location, and then there is dialog, the subtitles for the dialog do not display. Typically the location would display and the dialog would appear under it, or in another location while it's displayed. On a related note. Any idea when the Anime plugin is going to be fixed? I have A LOT of my anime that is no longer being detected/sorted.
ebr 16184 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Hi. There is an option in the upcoming app release that will allow you to transcode your AAS subs so that all formatting data will be retained.

Speaking of Anime subs on this platform, any news or suggestion for the issue where my PGS subs are rendering as just letter outlines? I've had to switch back to xbox one sine it forces transcoding of those subs. My shield THINKS it can process them. It's wrong. I prefer not to use external players though it also solves the problem.

Those are multi-layer PGS subs and Google does not appear very interested in supporting them. If we can find a way to identify those somehow, then we could force a transcode. 1

I don't like firing up the xbox for media playback.
