niczoom 0 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) Hi, I download a few new videos the other day. Im having issues when playing these new videos using the EMBY app & streaming via my Chromecast Gen 1. When the video starts, a video frame is displayed and the audio plays for a few seconds then stops. I can skip to a new time-code and the same thing happens. Casting them to my Chromecast Gen 2 is working without issue and playing them within the chrome browser also works. I haven't recalled any issues before casting to the Gen 1 plus its still working with all other videos in my collection? Emby server is up to date. Ive attached 2 log files named per chromecast used. emby log - Chromecast Gen 1.txt emby log - Chromecast Gen 2.txt emby server log - Gen 1.txt emby server log - Gen 2.txt Edited May 8, 2019 by niczoom
Luke 42083 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Hi there, as a test, if you turn off the server's transcode throttle feature, does that have any impact?
niczoom 0 Posted May 14, 2019 Author Posted May 14, 2019 Sorry for the delay. It wasn't the transcode feature, I tried with that on & off. It turned out to be the subtitles. They had to be ON otherwise the stream would not start, as mentioned above. What are your thoughts on this? I have attached a file with the MediaInfo output of the video, perhaps its got to do with how the subtitle have been incorporated into the video file? VideoFormat - MediaInfo.xml

Luke 42083 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 @@niczoom, apologies for the delay. I do not see a general problem with videos containing embedded subtitles. Is it possible to provide a copy of the video for testing? Thanks !
niczoom 0 Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 Hi Luke, Here is a link to a snippet of the video, it still contains the subtitle track as well. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sta9joivfu20GCCkcfxpIpRKFnSKzEQM/view
Luke 42083 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Did you verify that the problem occurs with the snippet?
niczoom 0 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 No, sorry. I just made sure it had the subtitles in, via Mediainfo. I'll test when I get home.
