Periodically loosing DLNA connectivity to bluray player

Hi,

Over the last few weeks I keep loosing DLNA connectivity to my Sony BDP3700s BD players. It usually happens when there is an update but this time it happened and there was no update listed in the dashboard around the time of the hiccup.
Connectivity usually comes back after a few minutes but it is annoying. The BD player sometimes hangs and I have to pull the power plug to get it back.
Server on Windows 10
Emby Version 4.1.1.0

I think I will turn  off automatic updates and see if that helps.

Here is the log for the latest.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

@@dawkid, how are you playing to the bluray player?

Hi Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure what you are asking but,

Emby is installed on a Windows 10 PC. There are two Sony BDP3700s BD players on the network through a gigabit switch wired with cat 5.

The players get their ip addresses through DHCP on a router, also on the network.

The other two servers running on the same PC, (Windows 10 built in and Playon) keep working.

Also I have been using Emby for about a year and a half with these players and I have only noticed this problem for maybe a couple of months.

Another problem that has cropped up just lately.

When playing music, from an album with the music files in the album folder they usually auto play the next file. Lately every other day or so the auto play stops working. When this happens, it stops working on the other servers as well. I have to recycle power on the player to get it back.

At times it almost seems like it is the player because recycling power on the player usually fixes it.

This has only been happening recently also.

Last night it happened and after recycling power on the player, it could not connect to Emby. It was able to connect to the other two servers though. I haven't had time to look today, but I suspect it is working for Emby now.

My wife is getting upset with me. I am supposed to be Mr. Fix-it. ;)

That's interesting, thanks for the info.

Thanks. Glad you are still thinking of this.

Another piece of info that I have noticed.

I usually have the players set on quick start mode. In that mode I believe they maintain the network connection while in standby mode.

I switched the one that my wife uses the most to regular power off mode so it has to boot and then get it's ip address.

When it would come up the other two servers would be available immediately while emby would not. Usually after a few minutes we would give up and just use one of the other servers. I would check emby after an hour or so and the player would see it. I don't know how long it actually took for the player to see the emby server, but we would watch a 45 minute show and then I would check it.

What you can try to do is reduce the blast message interval in Dlna server settings. It is currently set to 30 minutes. You could try lowering it to one minute.
