agbockus 0 Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 I have had multiple playback issues since installing and setting up Emby. 1. Cannot playback directly on LG WebOS TV - I have a LG C8 that starts Direct Playback, displays HDR and Dolby Atmos in the top left corner, and then freezes and never resumes. 2. Trying to play anything through Chrome 74 on my server (Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, Ryzen 2400G w/ AMDGPU installed and HA enabled) only shows a loading screen and never plays. Eventually this freezes the server and I have to hard reset the machine. 3. Playing Directly on Android App works fine, but transcoding down leads to green screen/pixelated blocks. Audio is unaffected. [screenshot & Log attached] 4. Trying to sync a 4K HDR HEVC file to the Android App using the 4mbps setting doesn't transcode, but instead almost immediately fails. [Log attached] Another 1080p HDR HEVC file started syncing fine (until the server froze as I started testing watching in a browser again). I've also attached the emby server log file, but let me know what else you might need! Sync_Conversion_Log.txt 720p2mbps_ffmpeg.txt Server_Log.txt
agbockus 0 Posted May 1, 2019 Author Posted May 1, 2019 I started out that way (before installing AMDGPU) there was no actual difference in playback performance, but the server performance was awful - it used a _lot_ more CPU though. The LG TV still couldn't actually play anything (and the server and the TV are both wired to the same network).

Just updated and I'm still getting the green display on mobile when trying to transcode anything, and still immediately fails when trying to download it to my mobile device. I can try the TV later tonight or tomorrow. Edited May 18, 2019 by agbockus
agbockus 0 Posted May 22, 2019 Author Posted May 22, 2019 (edited) @@Luke I have tested the WebOS TV app and it is working properly with this file! I can watch it directly and it didn't freeze during the 15 minutes or so I was playing the HEVC 10-bit file. So, now it just seems to be the mobile app issues. Note: Are these issues that may be in the app due to being on the Android Q Beta? Is there somewhere else I should put this feedback/issue report? Ah, I can't play the video file in the Chrome 75 browser still either. Very strange, as I'm connected to the same network and so it should be fairly simple to directly play the file. Regarding android, yes we'd have to look at that in more detail. Thanks !
