wfujay 0 Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 (edited) Hello everyone, new Emby Premiere subscriber here and I have an issue I'm trying to sort. First of all, I'm using the Emby Theater for Windows 10 x64, latest version from the website as well as Emby Server v4.1.0.26. When direct playing MKV files and HD audio via passthrough (DTS-HD MA/Dolby Digital+), I'm getting micro cut-outs in the audio. Sometimes it will be a silent cut out and other times there will be an audible "static/crackle" noise. It happens about 15-20x per movie (maybe more), only cuts out for less than a second, and recovers every time. Very annoying issue that I have yet to resolve. This is running through a Yamaha RX-V379 receiver. I don't believe this occurs with the lossy core DTS/Dolby audio tracks, but I'll test again to make sure. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Is there anything I can provide to help someone troubleshoot what the problem may be? I'll also try picking up a new HDMI cable tomorrow to rule that out, but as of now, I'm at a complete loss. Guest asrequested Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Do you have audio exclusivity, enabled? If not, give that a try.
wfujay 0 Posted April 29, 2019 Author Posted April 29, 2019 Do you have audio exclusivity, enabled? If not, give that a try. I do...it didn't help. I also just replaced the HDMI cable, and it's still doing it.
Guest asrequested Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 What do the stats report when it's doing this? And there are some circumstances in which exclusivity can be defeated. We may have to get you post an mpv log.

It's also happening with the core DTS/Dolby audio tracks now and it also happens via Plex. So unfortunately I think my receiver is dying.
wfujay 0 Posted April 30, 2019 Author Posted April 30, 2019 That sucks! Maybe a firmware update? I was hoping for the same, but my receiver has no firmware updates available.
