Refresh Internet Channels

I noticed this came up about two months ago and ran periodically.  Since the update to Version 4.1.0.26, the refresh is taking over an hour to and hour and a half to complete, Not sure what it is refreshing as use OTA only and no internet channels.  Seems to bog down at 33.3% once it starts instead of zipping along as it originally did.

Fixed it.

The more channel plugins you have, the longer it will take.

I hate to necro this old thread but...

I'm running stable server 4.3.1.0 on Win10. I've noticed getting this message for a couple of weeks now when I go to dashboard.  Mine sits at 0% complete. I only notice it after a recent server restart. I always "X" out of it and it doesn't seem to return until the next reboot.  There was a time when I had a streaming service with M3U tuner loaded to Emby but I have since removed that capability since the new year.  I now only have OTA tuner through HDHomeRun as a live TV device.  I do however have the PlayOn plug-in loaded but I rarely (if ever) use it.  I do NOT have the IPTV plugin loaded.

I see the OP said he solved/resolved the issue but he doesn't say how.

What is "refreshing internet channels" actually refreshing?  And what can I do to stop it from attempting to do so since I no longer have an M3U tuner loaded?  Is this PlayOn plugin related?  If so what do I need to do to keep it from hanging during this refresh?  Any help or hints would be appreciated.

Thx

Hi, yes it's probably trying to load content from the PlayOn plugin.

I'm running into the same issue ("refresh internet channels" is stuck at 0% under my dashboard), but I don't have PlayOn installed. Any other suggestions? This didn't start happening until I installed TuneIn. Perhaps there's a forum specific to this plugin since it's community supported?

I have Tunein plugin as well so I'd imagine it's one or the other or both (Playon or Tunein).  Since neither seem to work very well I have just come to ignore the refresh internet channels status.  It doesn't seem to effect client or server operation so to me it's just a nag.

There may be certain parts of the TuneIn refresh that doesn't update progress and so that's why it might stick on a % for a little while and then make a big jump after that.

Makes sense. I didn't notice any progress beyond 0% and then it suddenly disappeared so I assume the task is completed now. All is well! 😁

Make sure you configured TuneIn with your credentials as well.

I put my username and LatLon in the settings, but didn't see a spot to put in my password. I have an authenticated account with TuneIn.com though (entered my username from there in the settings for TuneIn).

Yea, you're right no password (weird).
