simonselmer 27 Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Hi all I have the DS918+ and is testing it out for now. I am considered buying 4 GB of extra RAM, and 2 x 250GB SSD M2. But will that actually help improve any performance at all for Emby server running on the NAS? Perhaps quicker load times, faster transcoding, less buffering, faster handling of stream TV from my HDHomeRun and more? Any experince or knowledge from anyone in this area?

d21mike 2 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) When I am testing I normally use the Synology Resource Monitor (under LOAD) to see how much CPU and Memory I am using. I try not to use transcoding if at all possible. Everything else seems to not use a lot of CPU or Memory in my experience. Edited May 10, 2019 by d21mike
