benaus 4 Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Hi, A friend tried playing a movie that required transcoding The codec is 4K HEVC Main 10 When he plays it through the app to a Chromecast the movie appears to start then just quit When he plays it within the app just a black screen appears but the sound plays I have attached the FFMPEG logs from the time of transcode. One log for Chromecast attempt and another for in app They seem to show an error with the subtitles. Would it be best to use a tool to strip these out? Many thanks in advance Ben ffmpeg-transcode-1d5c4fde-13de-4fc2-b013-422768783f8d_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1bf3d03b-d695-45e2-8db1-e628b8aa62ae_1.txt
archangelz 13 Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 (edited) I've been having the same problem with an HEVC 4K movie as well. Looks to be the same problem specifically only when I attempt to Chromecast the movie from my mobile to my two older TVs. Playing back from the TV app on my newer TV or my Shield TV are fine. benaus 4 Posted February 12, 2020 Author Posted February 12, 2020 @@benaus Are you still running into this? Sorry I haven't responded sooner It appears to be fine now, I also think it may have been to do with the internet connection and network on the other end This can be closed
