Emby 4+ will not start on my Debian machine

Hello all,

I am behind the times, and recently tried to upgrade a working emby 3.5.3.0 installation on Debian 9 (x64).  I downloaded emby-server-deb_4.2.0.1_amd64.deb from emby.com/downloads and ran sudo dpkg -i emby-server...

The package appears to load, but sudo systemctl status emby-server.service shows:

● emby-server.service - Emby Server is a personal media server with apps on just about every device.
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/emby-server.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)

sudo systemctl start|restart emby-server.service fails to start it,

When I do dpkg -P emby-server... to uninstall, then I re-install 3.5.3, the old version works again.

I'm clueless.  I did my best to scour the forums here.  I tried removing the emby user and group before installation.  No luck.  I cannot find any emby log files, since it appears emby never starts.  I've tried emby versions 4.0.1.0, 4.1.0.26, 4.2.0.1.  Nothing in the 4's works.

Thanks for any advice!

Strange. It seems to suggest there's no write access to the logs directory.

Oh.... well spotted, Not sure why this has happened though!

Fixed manually now it works again!
