Ubuntu 19.04 No Media Will Play

just installed Emby on

 

Ubuntu 19.04

Ryzen 2200G

 

First Issue:  all files are detected properly but unable to play anything from my server..just spins when I attempt to play.

EDIT:  emby user is added to video group and to group of my files folder, which is called docker

also to add to this, I just downloaded Plex and it will play the same files without issue

Not yet. Do you have any plain mp4's that don't require transcoding, and if so, do they play?

just an update on this...my issues at the time were involving Firefox as the web browser on Ubuntu 19.

 

I have since tried Chrome and the files play without issue...any thoughts?

Anyway i believe this is the issue:

Firefox on linux does not include h264 support. We need to improve our handling of this and fallback to webm in this situation. That used to work but recent changes seem to have caused a regression there.

Im having the same issue videos not playing in web, but im using chrome and the files wont play just keep spinning (i have my google drive mounted to my linux fs as my library via ocamlfuse) also library take 1 year to load images/meta why so slow, kodi does my whole library in 5 minutes, 10 tops,  ive had it running since last night and its still going)    my goal here is to directly stream things on emby from google drive.

Hi @@Westiewill007, are you still running into this?

 

The server has no media info for this file. A common cause of this would be that you're trying to play before the initial library scan has completed.
