Disable movie trailers

I'm not interested in trailers; I don't want to see trailers; I'd rather no trailer button appeared (even DVR TV recordings get trailers - though the one I looked at to see what it was there for was actually for a completely different program).

 

Is there a way to simply turn them off?

 

I've seen some CSS to hide the button in the web app, but this is hardly a useful patch.

No way to disable them as the information comes from the metadata provided from TMDB.  So the only way would be to not use TMDB as a provider.

Well, the fact that the information is available doesn't mean I have to want it.  But I suppose ignoring the button is no big deal...

Can we please get an option to remove the Trailer button from the interface if it can't be turned off? Maybe on a by user or by library basis? It can load up some gnarly adult trailers for things that get miss ID'ed in my kids videos.

I am just coming back to this, and I have used Metadata manager to removed all of the External ID's and used the 'Lock this item to prevent future changes' and saved it. I scanned the library and the trailers still play. Is there somewhere else I should be removing the trailers from? Thanks.

The Metadata manager does not show the trailer url that is listed in the metadata (nfo).  You would have to remove or clear <trailer>.
