funwithmedia 373 Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 I have a Library setup as a Home Videos type which I'm going to be populating with some seminars I own related to my work (eg, online seminars I purchase, download and want to organize in Emby). As far as I can tell there's currently no naming schema for "home video" content (ie, a way to name files that would automatically populate metadata fields such as Title, Date, People). So I'm wondering what naming patterns have folks found particularly useful (or patterns to avoid for some reason) for organizing content that is not going to have online metadata? Ideally, I'll want things to easily organize items by Date first, then Title, and Speaker (ie, People, if possible). Thanks in advance for any thoughts/recommendations!
Luke 42085 Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Hi, you should be able to use any file names you want for home videos.
funwithmedia 373 Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 Okay, cool. I just figured I'd see if anyone had found a particular naming pattern to be useful (for the "home video" type of library) within the ways Emby does things.
funwithmedia 373 Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 I've made a Feature Request that relates to this. Just cross-posting here for the benefit of future searchers. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/72701-emby-server-populate-metadata-via-filename-pattern-for-home-video-content-type-libraries/
