Can I convert to MP4?

Hi

 

Looking to make a temporary copy of some mkv files to MP4 format on a USB drive (Sandisk idrive) so I can watch them on an iPad. Is there a way to do this using Emby? Convert looks to only convert into original folder but I am looking to make a copy to a USB drive.

Just use Handbrake or Freemake or any of the many tools that are available. You'll be happier in the end.

You can transfer a video from mkv to mp4 without transcoding using MkvToMp4.

Thanks for the app advice, looks useful. Running out of time so gave in and bought Sandisk's Topreel app. Seems to work playing the mkv files direct from the Sandisk idrive on the ipad.

 

Will look into converting to MP4 for next time though.
