I have noticed an issue when playing back a few movies using the Fire TV app where I get static for audio. Playing on a PC via the Emby web interface or on the Fire TV with Kodi has no issues. Any ideas whats wrong?

So is that 24bit AAC...?

I know anything higher than 16bit FLAC is a problem.  This must be the same thing.

When you say it is a problem, I am going to assume it is with the Emby app, as the same file plays fine using Kodi on the FIre TV.

Is a plan to fix the issue in the works (I have a number of videos that use this codex at 24-bit)?

Hi.  Yes we'll have to look at how the app handles it.  More than likely, this audio will need to be transcoded.

Thank you.

Out of curiosity, does the emby for kodi addon use emby for transcoding, or is that just for library organizing?

Kodi handles most playback without the server transcoding (Kodi transcodes internally).
