ShieldTV Transcode on VC - 1 Movies

Can you please tell me why this movie and ones like it transcode?  I have movies in VC - 1 format with ac3 sound (no problems), but VC - 1 with DTS always transcode

What does that mean?  Are you saying shieldTV with Emby doesn't support VC - 1 / DTS ? But does support VC - 1 / Dolby..

Sorry.  If your system doesn't support DTS (or whatever audio format you try to play) then we need to transcode to convert that audio.  However, in that instance, it should pass thru the video without transcoding.  It is possible that we had trouble doing that with VC-1 though (that is a particularly troublesome codec) so I will have to investigate.  Thanks.
