Dedone 17 Posted February 7, 2025 Posted February 7, 2025 I have success with the HDR10 icon, but I'm not able to apply the hdr10+ icon. I name it withe the same prefix but It don't appear. Any idea?

I you run ffprobe -v quiet -print_format json -show_format -show_streams "input.mkv" > "input.mkv.json" on two files, one with HDR10 and another with HDR10+, ffprobe generated json shows no difference for HDR metadata. For a working detection atm, Emby would need to use other tools like e.g. mediainfo or depend on a proper file naming. Edited February 8, 2025 by sh0rty 1

What MediaInfo plugin does - and what you're seeing in the UI - it appends/replaces embedded track titles and those are what's displayed, it doesn't mean Emby's aware of that as it it relies solely on info provided by ffprobe. 2
Dedone 17 Posted February 8, 2025 Posted February 8, 2025 So, if I understand correctly, emby recognize the normal HDR from the media info plug in and not the HDR+. So, why if it recognizes as normal HDR don't apply the icon (the normal one)?

So basically your HDR10+ movies have absolutley no icon?
Dedone 17 Posted February 8, 2025 Posted February 8, 2025 (edited) Exactly, no icon at all, only on the normal HDR Edited February 8, 2025 by Dedone
Dedone 17 Posted February 8, 2025 Posted February 8, 2025 Found the solution. I had the DV icon not name correctly. So I understand that all the files in HDR+ are recognized as Dolby vision and it automatically apply the icon 1
sh0rty 717 Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 (edited) For anyone that wants to replace the default UHDBD/4K Metrocase cover, I made a template matching the actual UHDBD style. Just place it in the coverart MetroCase folder inside \cache\coverart in Emby server directory and rebuild image cache. If you want to automate it (on Windows), just create a Powershell script with the following content and create an task in the Windows task scheduler. I've set my task to run once an hour. The script searches for UHD.png in any versioned subfolder of coverart cache folder (e.g. 4.1...), and replaces it. Just set your Emby cache path and source file path. Theoretically you can modify targetsubpath if you want to replace another case style. In task scheduler, you need to add "Run program -> powershell -File "C:\PATH\TO\ReplaceUHD.ps1" in the actions tab. With this method, the image should survive plgin updates. # Base Directories $cachePath = "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\cache\coverart" $sourceFile = "C:\PATH\TO\OVERLAY\UHD.png" $targetSubPath = "MetroCase\UHD.png" # Search the newest folder that begins with "4.1." $latestFolder = Get-ChildItem -Path $cachePath -Directory | Where-Object { $_.Name -match "^4\.1\.\d+\.\d+$" } | Sort-Object Name -Descending | Select-Object -First 1 if ($latestFolder) { # Create full path $targetFile = Join-Path -Path $latestFolder.FullName -ChildPath $targetSubPath if (Test-Path $targetFile) { # Backup old overlay image Copy-Item -Path $targetFile -Destination "$targetFile.bak" -Force # Replace overlay image Copy-Item -Path $sourceFile -Destination $targetFile -Force Write-Output "Successfully replaced file: $targetFile" } else { Write-Output "Target file not found: $targetFile" } } else { Write-Output "Not matching folder found!" } Edited February 9, 2025 by sh0rty

aodfan 3 Posted February 11, 2025 Posted February 11, 2025 I want to understand if I am reading the details for the custom overlays correctly? Looking at the settings for "Select Custom Image Location", it allows me to set a "custom" location, even network paths (according to the note above). I can navigate to where I have the overlays I want to use on my NAS, but CoverArt is not seeing them? I have SMB and NFS sharing open on the entire Stream folder so Emby should be able to see the pngs, as that is the same root folder that Emby scans for library files. What is the issue here? Do the custom overlays have to reside on the server itself?
ebr 16172 Posted February 11, 2025 Posted February 11, 2025 Hi. That is a generic folder entry dialog. I'm not sure we've tested with custom images on a remote drive. Can the exact same location be used as a library path?

It does navigate through the folders just like setting up a library. Yes, my library are under Stream, i.e. Stream/Movies, Stream/TV Shows, etc.

Please post a log from a full refresh on an item where you feel it isn't working.
aodfan 3 Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Ok, I got it working to see my files and all, but I am wondering, is there a way to get rid of this annoying gap? The way I figure it, if there are overlays that indicate what resolution it is, I do not need to large case banner at the top, but when I only go with overlays of the tiles, I have this gap. I believe it would be nicer looking if it hugs the corners better, especially when there is no case being used.
ebr 16172 Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 15 hours ago, aodfan said: is there a way to get rid of this annoying gap? Sorry, not at this time. The logic placing the overlays isn't aware of what the underlying treatment may look like but pretty much all of them are placing a border around the poster so the overlays need to stay out of the way of that. Also, our standard overlays wouldn't look very good jammed all the way at the edge.

I would hope in the future, code could be implemented with an if statement if case = Plain, ignore case banner, etc etc. Then if others want to use just the overlays they don't look like they are hovering too low on the poster. So the only option at this moment for it to look mostly good is to force using a case banner and then unchecking "Resolution" because it would be redundant. I would also suggest in the future the ability shift/change the offset of the growing/starting point of the overlays. Example below, the custom Dobly Vision could still be nugged to the left a bit more if you ask me.

gihayes 47 Posted March 17, 2025 Posted March 17, 2025 (edited) Additional Overlays to go along with the defaults. I don't have any IMAX files to test but I know the aspect ratio is 1.43:1. I didn't know if aspect_143 or aspect_1431 would work so I included both just in case one might. The zip file also has additional aspect ratio images. Overlays.zip Edited March 17, 2025 by gihayes 1

yocker 1247 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 Most likely been said before but.. Would be awesome if the plugin could show icons for available audio and subtitle languages.

Would be awesome if the plugin could show icons for available audio and subtitle languages. There is really no way to show icons for all available subs and audio tracks. Many posters would be completely covered in icons. CA can now show an icon when you have a specific audio language on an item. So if you just want to know if an item has a particular language audio track, place an image with the three-letter code.png (e.g. eng.png).
