maxiu 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) According to wiki https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Subtitles supported subtitle formats are: ass srt ssa sub/idx vtt Why then are the plugins (I have OpenSubtitles, Addic7ed and Podnapisi activated) sometimes downloading subtitles in tmp, mpl or txt format? Does anyone know of a script that can go through my libraries and convert those automatically? Edited April 10, 2019 by maxiu
Luke 42077 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 That's just the format that they have. I didn't realize they were downloading in those formats though. What downloaded downloaded those, do you know?
maxiu 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Yes, upon further examination it seems OpenSubtitles plugin downloads anything it can get its hand on, and the other two download nothing at all.
maxiu 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Yes however the format is different from srt ie. [2][38]text1 [41][72]text2 [73][97]text3 [107][137]text4 [139][175]text5 my guess would be those are frame numbers.
Luke 42077 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Ok thanks. I'm sure ffmpeg can handle converting that to whatever we need on the fly. I'll make sure the server recognizes the .mpl extension for subtitles.
Luke 42077 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Hmm, although it's not that simple as mpl is already a recognized playlist format.
maxiu 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Hmm but those subs do not appear in the player under CC button.
Luke 42077 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Correct, the server, is currently not looking for .mpl files. this will need to be added.
