Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I know that selling access to a server is against Plex's terms of service and I believe it is against Emby's as well. While the offers may work for a while if Emby investigates they may well stop any access to the accounts involved and I do not think that remote access can continue to work without periodic checking of the Emby account. In any case that selling of access is clearly not what Emby is intended for and they are probably violating international copyright law as well as Emby's TOS. 1

OddbOd 21 Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) Such use appears to violate Section 4c of Emby's Terms of Service or put another way, yes, they're scams. Both accounts are almost certainly reselling content without a license by misrepresenting themselves as support or warranty services to evade eBay's rules. The XBMC Foundation has had this problem for years but can get dodgy "Kodi Box" listings removed immediately because they hold trademarks on their name and logos. Hopefully Emby will do the same as it brings the brand in to serious disrepute. Edited April 1, 2019 by OddbOd 1
