nmkaufman 50 Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 When I tell Emby Server to save images and metadata next to my media, are these the actual working images and metadata that Emby fetches when I browse the library? Or more like a backup? Would I expect to see a decrease in performance, for instance, if I started saving this information to a mechanical HDD where my media resides, vs the SSD with my Operating System? If performance is worse, is there any way to reverse this setting? And reabsorb (for lack of a better word) the images and metadata back into Emby's internal folders? My machine is a bit underpowered, so having to repulate Metadata from scratch takes days so I can't just experiment very easily. I appreciate any help I can get.
Solution ebr 16185 Posted March 30, 2019 Solution Posted March 30, 2019 Hi. You will not see decreased performance from doing this. Images are cached and metadata comes from the database. 1
