PenkethBoy 2068 Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 (edited) Currently we only have a limited set of Notifications for users And although Activity gives you more information - the list is limited in that it very quickly disappears off the server dashboard and you have to use the report plugin to easily see whats happened recently - and its very easy to miss things without some notification that User X is doing Y.... So... Could we have additional Notifications for things like User x logged in Externally User X is downloading video y - but with the full filename as the title (currently) is not helpful as it does not list the Series/season - so things like "Pilot" could be any of a number of "Pilot" episodes User x logged out - external User User X re connected - i.e. they are using cached credentials - currently apart from seeing them on the dashboard - there is no indication they are connected - and there is nothing recorded in the activity logs either etc There are several others that could be added to make the server admin's job easier and have knowledge of what a external user is doing which may affect server performance and network external bandwidth Edited March 30, 2019 by PenkethBoy
Luke 42077 Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 To me I'm not sure those are best done via new notification types. I think those would be better as attributes added to the existing notifications. Otherwise where does it end, we could end up with a huge number of possible notifications that are all very similar with just some small variation of some sort.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 Well thats one way to do it But as you have so few Notification options - a few more would not go a miss We need enough notifications to manage the server - currently IMO there are several that need adding to get a basic set that covers a lot more than it does now Either way more info is needed as your only alternative currently is Activity and that empties so quickly you miss things if you are not on the server dashboard all the time
Sudopian 1 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 I would also love to see notifications about user downloads. I already use Pushover for notifications and it would be very helpful to get a notification if a user downloads anything.
