Carlo 4561 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 If you want to be safe 6 hours to 1 day will cover you. Working in days may be easier so 1 day (24 hours) from the modified time stamp should be fine. 1

I'm running the latest version of Emby and my C drive still keeps getting full. My transcoding folder is 56GB and has files in it from 4 days ago. I'm seeing temporary files not being deleted after playback when using the iPad app, so having to delete them manually.
paddy-emby 2 Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) I've got the same issue following playback with the Roku app, and the android app. Edited February 16, 2021 by paddy-emby

Paused playback and either went to the phones home screen or backed out using the capacitive back button (can't remember exactly). The following evening I went back to the Emby app and finished the movie and saw the temp files from the first evenings viewing had not been removed.
Luke 42078 Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Hi, we're looking into improving this. Thanks for reporting.
Capt.Insano 3 Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 (edited) Just to report, I got the same issue with a user playing from an Xbox One Emby Server: 4.5.4.0 (running in offical docker on linux server, not windows) User playing on Xbox One transcoding-temp folder full of *.ts files. Not sure how the user stopped the stream Thanks for all your work Edited March 5, 2021 by Capt.Insano more info
Venumoro 0 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Having this issue as well though it's just one .ts file that is 98.6 GB that filled up my cache till it was full. (120 GB cache) Emby Server: 4.5.4.0 running on a docker in an unraid server. Playing from nvidia shield 2019 pro. For context the user just watches live tv and leaves it on most of the day every day.
Carlo 4561 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 That's always a tough one to handle. Maybe you could ask the user to exit and go back in every 4 hours or so during a commercial??? 1

Hi, please note, this is not the same as what's being discussed here. This topic is about sessions that have already completed whose temp files have not been cleaned up yet. In your case, you have a user who is leaving it going all day long, which is another situation. What I would suggest is to ask them to enable the "are you still watching" feature in the app so that it will automatically stop after a few hours of idle activity. 1
