Guest Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I have already mentioned this problem here but I believe that it has not received the attention and I understand it to be a serious problem. The Emby Android app isn't displaying the external subtitle (.srt) in the app itself, watching the movie on your smartphone, and also uploading to the chromecast. The logo can be dismissed in this situation, because to confirm, just play a movie with external subtitles .srt. I hope we have the solution to this serious problem. Thank you
arche 177 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I've only test with the android app, but I can see the srt file just fine. Apologies if I misunderstood.
Guest Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Hi, thanks for your message.I've just tested again on 3 movies, all with external subtitles .srt and in none of them the caption is displayed.I use in Android 8.1 the latest version of the emby app.I forgot to quote, my collection is in google drive, so the video files are in strm format.
arche 177 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Hi, thanks for your message. I've just tested again on 3 movies, all with external subtitles .srt and in none of them the caption is displayed. I use in Android 8.1 the latest version of the emby app. I forgot to quote, my collection is in google drive, so the video files are in strm format. That might be the difference. I'm using the latest version of the emby app, but not using google drive, the strm format is probably the difference. Going to have to wait on @@ebr or @@Luke to chime in.
Guest Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I also see the file as it is on your screen, but for me, the caption does not appear in the movie playback.---Oooh yeah, I have not tested with files from my local library, but I will. Rather, the emby normally displayed subtitles for .srtm files, and this occurred a few weeks ago.
Luke 42085 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
