CaseyP 17 Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 (edited) I'm sure this will be another, "see if 4.1 fixes it" responses but here is a problem when bringing in a new series on 4.x that has been a problem since the release of 4.x Example: In my folder of shows to be organized, I had a file: what.they.do.in.the.shadows.s01e01.mkv I have Auto organize set to not auto match shows, so I manually match this to its meta data. Auto organize renames and moves the file to its correct spot, for me: M:\TV\What We Do in the Shadows\Season 1\What We Do in the Shadows - S01E01 - Pilot.mkv After scanning, the dashboard displays two series: Clicking on either, takes you to the series which shows the new episode, but doesnt properly show the season: At this point, to have the series display as a single show, and to have it correctly display the season/meta data you HAVE To rename the root folder of the series. In this case, the original: M:\TV\What We Do in the Shadows\Season 1\What We Do in the Shadows - S01E01 - Pilot.mkv changed to M:\TV\What We Do in the_Shadows\Season 1\What We Do in the Shadows - S01E01 - Pilot.mkv NOTE: I added an underscore where a space used to be. Now, after a rescan: One series! Yay!.. and: Proper meta data. This is an issue that has been discussed in the past month and only lately the answer has been, "see if its fixed in 4.1" ... fine.. but can we start getting hotfixes if major releases are going to take weeks or months? Random fun fact, since I also run Plex on the same machine, the scan Plex did after Auto organize moved the file worked fine. Just as it used to on Emby 3.x. Edited March 28, 2019 by CaseyP 1
Luke 42077 Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Hi, it is a problem with auto-organize. Try adding new series manually without using the plugin. Thanks.
CaseyP 17 Posted March 28, 2019 Author Posted March 28, 2019 Okay. Although the plugin was one of the two reasons I originally left Plex and moved to Emby 2 years ago. The other reason being that Emby had a filter to show missing episodes. 4.x also broke/removed that. So, just to recap, the two deciding factors for why I left Plex and moved to Emby, are now broken or not working. If I go to the developer info of the plugin, it redirects to this site, so my next question, will the plugin be updated soon to fix this month old issue?
Luke 42077 Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 The reports plugin can still show you missing episodes. The plugin is community contributed therefore I do not have all of the answers, but I do like the way it is creating new series and have voiced this to the community developers in the past. I'm going to just remove that code myself now. Unfortunately it is possible that the additional series record created by the plugin might be irreversible, or rather, not very easily corrected. What you could try to do is remove the series from your library altogether, run a full library scan to clear it out, then add it back. I'm not entirely sure that this will remove both entries though as the one created by the plugin was not created correctly. But i would give that a try. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
