Played Movie not staying checked

All the movies I have seen keep showing up as played when I have not played it and sometimes it shows up unplayed when I did play it. It seems to have a mind of its own. Right after I have finished a movie Emby will check the box played like it should. Then later on the next day or so it will not be checked along with a lot of others, not all but a lot.

It seems to only happens on movies I have added to the library. Happens on my firetv and nvidia shield and all users accounts have the same issue. Server is Synology

Hi.  I don't really understand that statement.  What movies do you have that you have NOT added to your library?

Do the items look the same in the web app?

Are you running anything like TrakT?

Hi @@ebr

I have a movie folder where I put all my rips and that seems to be where the problem is. The recorded TV shows work fine. I only have a problem in the Movie folder where all my movies are stored. Web app same issue. Played movies show played right after watching a movie, if I leave and return to the movies most of them are not showing played.  I have noticed when I see a movie that I have played and its not showing played, if I click on the movie the box already seen is red and checked. If I back out it then shows the green check as seen.

The only plugins I have are the ones that came pre installed.

Okay, so not specific to this app.

Are you on the beta server?

No.. Version 4.0.3.0

I'm at a complete loss.  Can you show us some screen shots from the web app demonstrating the issue?

Thanks.

I don't no how else to explain it. Here in the attached ss you see the green checked showing only a few when I have seen them all. if I manually select/check watched on all of them it works, but as soon as I leave and come back they are unchecked. But sometimes not all of them are unchecked, thats why I say it seems random. My brother has the same exact problem on his firetv.

Also some movies are showing played when I have not seen them. For instance the movie "Kursk" it shows played but when I click on it, the check mark isn't even checked as played but yet on the main page it shows played.. So I don't no man...

Hi.  Can we see more of the context of that screenshot?  Where exactly is that?  What view and what type of library?

Here is a link to a video of what I am trying to explain. You will see in the video that some work like they should and most do not.

Thanks.  Something is definitely not working right there...

I would check the moviedb and imdb id's that are assigned to those titles. Maybe they all have the same value.

Looks like you are correct. All the movies that have a 0 in TheMovieDb Id are the ones with a problem. The movies that do have id's are working fine. Removing the 0 and leaving it blank fixes the issue. How can we prevent this from happening all the time? Thank you @@Luke

Well the question is where did the 0 come from?

Perhaps they're in your nfo files?

Yep there are nfo files that got there from using tinymediamanager used for scrapping trailers. After removing the nfo files and rebuilding the library fix the issue. Thanks for all the help.

Why would it write nfo's with a moviedb id of 0? Or maybe they just had a defect at some point that did that?

I don't know but I found a option to disable the nfo file when scrapping trailers. I don't need or want any of that stuff as Emby handles it just fine.
