denz 501 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) I have recently purchased android tv so tried emby on it and it just looks ugly compared to apple tv app. Is that limitation of android tv ? live tv it starts very quickly faste even than Theatre. How apple tv looks is how I imagined theatre will look as this is a true tv application theatre still looks like a web page. Edited March 23, 2019 by denz
CBers 7450 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 They look virtually identical, don't they. That's consistency for you by the Emby devs. Lots of ATV users have had input on tweaking the UI so that it looks as good as it does. Don't have any fruity products to compare, but it looks very similar, although the cast & crew row seems very high to me, as does everything else, compared to the ATV app. Having the information towards the bottom of the screen, allows for more of the artwork to be seen. Perhaps Eric can update the fruity UI so that it better matches the ATV UI.
Pog22 52 Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) I prefer the first image. The page should be a showcase of the background artwork, the cast should not be visible until you scroll down. The second image is far too cluttered Edited March 23, 2019 by colfin22 2

Ultimately, we'd like to update the Apple TV app as well but we are fairly restricted with how we present things with the current implementation on that platform (it has set "templates"). 1
ebr 16178 Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 I did the same thing for a long time, waiting for a refresh, but ultimately I realized that I was waiting for nothing. The Tegra platform, despite being a couple years old still is extremely capable. The expansion capability of the Shield allows you to connect near limitless storage. It has more than enough memory and power to run all the latest Android games. Nvidia is even pushing Geforce Now which will allow you to play triple A titles via streaming on your $179 "console". The reality is that the requirements of a 4K Android TV box Nvidia's hardware is already way ahead despite being 3 years old. You could wait another two years for a refresh and still not see one. Hi. What, exactly, are you talking about here...?
