w31 0 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Hi. I'm running Emby server 4.0.2.0 on Ubuntu 16.04. And I have some music videos in folders sorted by artists and everything is good for most of them, for example I have this for Gorillaz: Gorillaz in explorer Gorillaz in server view and for Jain I have same naming as you can see on this screen: Jain in explorer but server thinks what all of that is 3 versions of same video instead of separate videos: Jain in Emby server view and I wonder if did anything wrong or is there a way to fix that? Because changing file names does nothing:
w31 0 Posted March 28, 2019 Author Posted March 28, 2019 since everybody I know loves Gorillaz I think the problem is Jain - that's why I got no replies So I decided to drop my old video folder structure and use Music naming for mp3s as listed here and made album folder inside artist folder. So the structure is Artist/Album/Track.mp4 instead of Artist/Track.mp4 and that fixed my problem. But it is still weird what old structure was good enough for other artists.
Luke 42079 Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 @@w31, the reason for this is that your old file names were colliding with our multi-version video naming guidelines: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie-naming This is something we can look to improve in a future update. Thanks ! 1
