silkz 3 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) I've sync'd 87GB of video to my Galaxy Note 9 around 3 weeks ago. This has taken many hours of waiting for the transfers to finish. Suddenly today they are all gone in Emby but are physically still on my device. I can play them with VLC, Plex client, Archos Player, etc. However Emby has completely lost them. I have tried rebooting several times, uninstalled and reinstalled from the play store, uninstalled and restored a backup from Titanium backup. I have premiere lifetime. See these screen shots: Emby has all the syncs on device (pictured) and also on the server (not pictured) https://i.imgur.com/daSRmV8.png However downloads are suddenly empty: https://i.imgur.com/VaOvN1w.png But all the files are still on my phone: https://i.imgur.com/4dbBEkD.png What do I do now? Thanks! Edited March 19, 2019 by silkz
imthedoctor 7 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Were they on your SD card when upgrading to android pie?
silkz 3 Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 Sorry, I should've mentioned I am still on 8.1. I never was able to get Emby to sync to an external SD card and gave up on that, so I am storing all the files on internal SD.
Luke 42077 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Hi, prior to this happening, did you possibly clear existing app data or uninstall/reinstall the app? Currently that will cause this to happen.
silkz 3 Posted March 22, 2019 Author Posted March 22, 2019 Thanks Luke but neither of those happened prior to the error. The only thing that was out of the ordinary was that I was away from my LAN and played videos from my phone to a Chromecast maybe 2 days before this happened. After I played them on the Chromecast I cannot remember opening Emby on my phone (other clients yes) till I discovered this error. I was unable to recover from this error. I ended up taking the time consuming path of deleting all the syncs from Emby server, which cleared them from the Android client on my phone, then I recreated them. Emby is still downloading the files as we speak, so this is working I think.
Luke 42077 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 @@silkz i apologize for this. Have you noticed it happening again? 1
silkz 3 Posted April 22, 2019 Author Posted April 22, 2019 Thank you Luke, so far no repeats. If this does happen again is there anything I should do differently?
Luke 42077 Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Not that I can think of. Let us know if it happens again. Thanks.
