mrfragger 39 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 What app do you want to use folder view from? I’ve searched the forums for stuff liked nested folders and sub folders, etc. I think UTah Dave was saying that he could put folders and then quickly navigate to sub folders level 2 or level 3 deep. You still can do this in mixed content mode. For me I wanna do this for the music library. One work around would be to batch rename all folders with a beginning tag and see if that sorts by folder name and not metadata. When I click on Best folder it’ll show all the folders with whether I choose sort by ‘name’ or ‘folder’ it sorts by metadata which I don’t want. I want to sort by the actually folder name. So is it possible to allow a sort option by ‘real name of folders’ or if not then perhaps let us choose how many levels deep. For example for mixed content I have tons of folders and make a custom poster.png to quickly navigate around and find the content. For music library Is love to also quickly navigate by folder name and ‘shuffle’ on said folder. Everything can be done now but trying to find an artist is a joke because it’s like a random sort order even though technically it’s not just sorted by metadata.
Luke 42077 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Music libraries should have a Folders tab as well that you can do this with.
mrfragger 39 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Lemme show you with screenshots. Perhaps I just need to change my metadata then it’ll sort the way I wish. For instance instead of Essentials / Avicii I should change to Avicii / Essentials 2nd screenshot shows from iOS app Neutron and I can quickly locate the artists and it’s truly a folder name based view.
Luke 42077 Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 In our case, the albums and the folders are one and the same, so if the album title is different from the folder title, then that's what you'll see in Emby.
