astuff 3 Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Emby no longer saw my HDHomeRun after everything came back on line. Instead of an error or alert all I got was a spinning circle when trying to watch Live TV. With that it took a bit to figure out what was wrong. Using http://my.hdhomerun.com/ as well as their native app came right up so device was fine. My Emby server retained its IP so that part was OK. Issue is that the tuner device configuration in the server TV Source Setup is static. Is there a fix other than giving the tuner a reserved IP? Everything I've used in the past supported DCHP.
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Hi, Emby should eventually realize the change but it may not be immediate. Why not just give it a static ip? If you have the ability to do that, then that seems like the most practical option. 1
CBers 7450 Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 Not sure you can set a static IP address on a HDHomeRun. The easiest way to keep it though, is to do an IP reservation on your router. 2
astuff 3 Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 Yes, I added a reservation to my router so this doesn't happen again. First time I've had to do that in years. Feels like I've stepped back in time. 1
