I know that everything is geared toward reencoded files instead of disc folders and isos now so I know that emby no longer attempts to read iso information. My problem is when I set the 3d tag manually in metadata manager the server blanks it out the next time it refreshes the library.  I have tried to lock the metadata and shut off all forms of automatically refreshing of the metadata but it keeps blanking the 3d information out.  I really don't need to refresh the whole library every time if I add items one by one. I have almost a 100 3d isos and other than this issue see no reason to go through the chore reencoding all of them to 3D mkv. Is there any way to set this flag and lock it so it does get wiped out? I am on Version 4.1.0.14 beta.

Thank you

Hi, what if you try by naming the file with the 3d tag instead of using the metadata editor?

I already added ".bluray.3d.fsbs." to all the file names (right before iso extension). It made no difference.

do you have nfo metadata?

Yes I have nfo metadata.  I just tried adding this to the NFO in file info. Seemed to work but if I refresh the item it blanks it out again.

        <codec>h264</codec>
        <micodec>h264</micodec>

        <height>1080</height>
        <aspect>16:9</aspect>
        <aspectratio>16:9</aspectratio>
        <format3d>FSBS</format3d>

What would happen if I manually edited the nfo file and made the file read only?  Would this cause issues with general library refreshes?

@@Happy2Play are you able to reproduce?

I had no issue adding a item with the ".bluray.3d.fsbs." naming tags.

I did not have any issue adding "<format3d>FSBS</format3d>" to video info and refreshing the item and have it read.

But I don't have a issue of a refresh resetting assigned information either.  So we would have to figure out why your setup is resetting this information.

Can you go over a specific example and provide folder structure and folder content.

I think it's because the file format is iso so emby reads nothing for fileinfo.  Your example is mkv. I just did a partial count of 3d isos and I stopped at 107.  Too much of a pain to go back and rip main movie in 3d then all of the extras for over 100 isos. Some newer films I have as 3d mkv. As to my file structure and contents.

No as I get the same results with iso.  Can you post a server log showing a refresh changing this information.

Had to manually Identify it but it maintained the 3D status.

***Could be xml/nfo related will have to test more on that.

When the xml reader is first and you Refresh metadata the 3D format flag is removed from the nfo file.  If nfo is before xml, Emby is able to maintain the 3D format flag.

If there is no xml file Emby is able to use the naming convention and know to use that 3D format flag.

I assume this is do the xml plugin not reading the Format3D tag as reported here.

A locked nfo changes when you have xml first also.

My tests were on 4.1.0.14.

@@rostar99 are you using XML metadata? It looks like support for this was never added to XML.
