Fieperskaivu 1 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Hi, Been using Media Browser for a while and love it! Had a strange thing start happening recently however, every movie I add to my collection downloads all the correct metadata except for the poster. It assigns a backdrop as the primary image and I have to manually download the poster. Is this a setting somewhere that I've changed or can change to make it work correctly again? Here's what it looks like... as you can see before all the posters were downloading fine, now it just shows a backdrop. Some of these I've manually added posters to which works, but I'm wondering how to make it automatic again like all the other images.
ebr 16182 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Make sure you didn't accidentally turn them off here:
Fieperskaivu 1 Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Thanks for you reply! Yea I've been pouring over the settings trying to find what's changed, that's all still enabled for me too:
ebr 16182 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Do you have the global option to download from the internet still turned on under the "Basics" tab?
ebr 16182 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Then you'll need to look through your logs to find where those items were initially discovered and see if maybe there were errors downloading the art. If that is the case, you might want to turn off the "Screen Grabber" for movies because, once an image is created, it won't go look for another one.
Fieperskaivu 1 Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 Hi, Thanks for you help, I believe I've figured out the issue... all my media comes to one folder and I then move it to Movies/Shows/Music etc. It seems that if I do it right away, everything works fine. At some point however an image is created for each movie/show that acts as the poster as shown in my first screenshot. It then fills in the rest of the metadata when it's in my movie folder, but because it's already designated a "poster" like you said it won't look for another one. Is there a way of completely disabling metadata downloading for one specific folder, without totally removing that folder from Media Browser? Sometimes I like to just watch stuff from there before I organize it. Thanks!
ebr 16182 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 If what you described is your problem, then disabling the screen grabber like I suggested is what you need to do. You may also need to disable it for plain videos if you are dumping these into a file structure that won't be recognized as a movie.
seanbuff 1316 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I have noticed the same thing is happening to me also. However, I already have 'Screen Grabber' disabled for Movies. Below is my config: And the result ....
seanbuff 1316 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) So I went through the Server logs during the period that this movie was picked up by the library. It appears that even though 'Screen Grabber' is disabled - it is still somehow being activated, running ffprobe.exe to grab the screen, and saving it to a resulting 'folder.jpg' -- which is why another Primary image is never being downloaded. 2014-05-11 20:22:45.0998 Debug - App: Running FFProbeProvider for \\MediaNAS\Media\HD Movies\Lone Survivor (2013)\Lone Survivor (2013) 720p [BluRay-DTS] x264.mkv 2014-05-11 20:22:45.1128 Debug - MediaEncoder: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ffmpeg\20140304\ffprobe.exe -i file:"\\MediaNAS\Media\HD Movies\Lone Survivor (2013)\Lone Survivor (2013) 720p [BluRay-DTS] x264.mkv" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_chapters -show_format 2014-05-11 20:22:45.2248 Debug - App: Running VideoImageProvider for \\MediaNAS\Media\HD Movies\Lone Survivor (2013)\Lone Survivor (2013) 720p [BluRay-DTS] x264.mkv 2014-05-11 20:22:45.5788 Debug - ProviderManager: Saving image to \\MediaNAS\Media\HD Movies\Lone Survivor (2013)\folder.jpg @@Luke has something changed in the last beta Server update to cause this behavior, or is that normal?
