CChris 59 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 By default, emby is showing the latest added movie in front of the "Latest Movies" section. But if I change the "Sort Title" of a movie, the movie will be placed somewhere else in this section. In the below Screenshot, I have placed numbers in the orders the movies have been added to the library.Above the Covers, you can find the "Sort Order Title" the movie will have.Without this title, all Movies have been shown in the correct order they have been added.I think, the "latest movie" should ignore the sort order title to work in the way, the name would suggest?
Luke 42083 Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 It does ignore the sort title. i would make sure the date added value isn't being changed before and after.
CChris 59 Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 Hi thanks!I have only changed the Sort Title - nothing else.I've added some more movies right now, where I want to set the sort title - so I will confirm, if the Date Added will change or not.btw: all movies have been added on the same day... maybe, that could be the reason?
CChris 59 Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 Hi,Ok this is related, if several movies have been added at the same time.1 - Movies added, this is directly after the Library Scan:Then, I've changed the Sort Title for Iron Man and set it to "IronMan:01"Valerian was the last Movie I have added yesterday night - so Iron Man will now be listed as the first movie which has been added in the latest Library Scan. After changing the Sort Title for the other Iron Man Movies, I have this result:How does the sort work, if more movies have the same DATE ADDED info?does emby use other options like title, sort title then?1) Date added 2) title 3) sort titleMaybe, you could consider to use also time related information for the added information? This could also work for the whole Movie Library when order the items by "date added".
ebr 16187 Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 To my thinking, using sort title as the secondary sort for items added at the same time would be proper... Now, how precise the added date is for the sort, I'm not sure.
CChris 59 Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 it seems only to be the date without any time information. But of course, the time would be nearly the same when multiple movies have been added before a library scan was performed. From my point of view, the "last added" should completely ignore any other sort indication than the date / time added. This is also valid for the order option "date added" in the Movie Library.I also noticed a similar behave there... you are ordering by "date added / Descending" and sometimes, a movie will be added not at the beginning of the results, but within... depending on its alphabetical order. But I will try to reproduce this seperately - and report this seperately.
Luke 42083 Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 There is currently an open issue that is resolved for the next release, that when using the metadata editor the time portion of the date added value is lost.
